About Our Services & Prices

SERVICES PROVIDED BY DR. BASILE:

  • Dr. Basile's practice includes his office at 1981 N. Broadway, Suite 202, Walnut Creek, California in a beautiful, relaxing spa-like atmosphere. All services are provided here and all procedures are done by Dr. Basile. House-calls for group Botox® treatments are available. Dr. Basile will come to your home or if you are visiting and staying in one of our Resort-Spa hotels in the Napa/Sonoma/San Francisco area, Dr. Basile will make arrangements to see you there. Dr. Basile will make house-calls to the following cities and counties: Alamo, Sausalito, Tiburon, San Anselmo, Mill Valley, Greenbrae, Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Healdsburg, Marin county, Napa, St. Helena, Calistoga, Oakland, San Jose, Saratoga, Pleasanton, Walnut Creek, Benicia, Modesto, Sacramento, Fairfield, Concord, Orinda, Moraga, Lafayette, Danville, Dublin and Livermore.
  • Dr. Basile uses the hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers Restylane®, Perlane®, and Juvederm®, as well as the calcium hydroxyapetite based Radiesse®. These fillers are used to correct static wrinkles such as fine facial lines, “smoker's lips,” frown line, smile lines and “marionette lines.” Restylane® is also used to augment lips, chin, and cheeks. Almost any area can be augmented with dermal fillers. Restylane® and Perlane® last about six months. An added benefit of these fillers is they intensely stimulate your own collagen formation.
  • Botox® is provided for the treatment of dynamic lines of the face. These include but are not limited to “crow's feet,” frown lines and horizontal forehead lines.
  • Dysport® is the newest competitor to Botox®. Also a Botulinum Type A, it is distributed by the makers of Restylane®. The dose used is different than Botox® but ultimately the cost is the same for each area. For example, if you get 20 units of Botox® to the frown/glabellar area, you will need 50 units of Dysport® to get the same results. Only one report in the Wall Street Journal has reported Dysport® might last longer than Botox®. The injection pattern is the same for Dysport® as for Botox®. The same precautions apply. The same side-effects are possible. Dysport® does have trace amount of Lactose (milk sugar). So, if you are allergic to lactose you should not get Dysport®. Dysport® has trace amounts of human Albumin (protein). It is theoretical that the virus that causes Crutzfield-Jacob's Disease (Mad Cow disease in animals) could be transmitted in humans.
  • Dr. Basile provides IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) Photofacials using the Lumenis Epilight. This is a different way to stimulate your own collagen formation and can be used in combination with dermal fillers to get dramatic results. Photofacials also remove blemishes such as acne and age spots and make your skin smoother and gives a more youthful appearance. Acne treatments are scheduled twice a week for 6 to 8 weeks.
  • Laser Hair removal is also offered using the LIGHTSHEER SYSTEM. The laser light energy is absorbed by the pigment in the hair which then destroys the hair cells that are actively making hair. Not all hair follicles are at the same stage in the growth cycle. Otherwise we would be bald part of the year. This is the reason why multiple treatments are needed. This also explains why downy white facial hair and grey hair is unaffected. There is not enough pigment in the hair follicle to absorb the light energy. Coloring gray hair does not work because it does reach the root of the hair follicle. The hair reduction achieved is permanent. In consideration of your privacy concerns, nurses are available to perform your laser hair removal.
  • Photofacials also remove the redness associated with Rosacea. Results with Rosacea can last up to a year. Up to three treatments may be needed. Then, one treatment per year to maintain the results.
  • Vein treatments include injections (sclerotherapy) and laser treatments using the Lumenis Yag laser. Treatment are individualized but in general spider veins of the legs are best treated with saline injections. If any remain that cannot be treated with injections because they are too small, then laser treatments are done to finish the job. The results are permanent.
  • Office Surgery: Dr. Basile performs a variety of low cost surgical procedures in the office. All procedures are done with local anesthesia or a nerve block. Some of the procedures include: biopsies (including small superficial breast masses), removal of skin tags, excess skin, moles, warts, fatty tumors (lipomas), small tattoos, scar excisions/revisions, vasectomies and suture repair of minor lacerations. The cost of surgery is determined only after consultation. Dr. Basile provides one follow-up visit within 30 days of surgery at no charge to the patient as part of his elective surgery fee. Dr. Basile is not part of any insurance plan and does not bill insurance. Diagnosis and Procedure codes will be provided upon request should the patient wish to submit their own claim to their insurance company. Patient is responsible for cost of specimens sent to the lab including any pathologist fee. If a procedure is not listed call and inquire to see if Dr. Basile can help you.
  • Photodynamic Therapy (PDT): Also known as ALA-PDT is an IPL treatment that is preceeded by the application of Levulon to the skin. Levulon (5-Amino Levulinic Acid) is a prescription drug that makes sun damaged areas, precancerous areas, acne-causing bacteria and overactive oil glands more sensitive to the IPL treatments. Levulon is applied one hour prior to the treatment by the physician. This allows time for the drug to penetrate into the skin. After your treatment expect redness for a few days as well as peeling. The number of treatments needed varies. Treatments are spaced three weeks apart. Maximal effects are seen after one year. Treatments may be covered by insurance.
  • Laser Tattoo Removal: Revlite is a Q-switched laser with a very short pulse duration. This makes it ideal for tattoo removal. All different colors can be treated. Multiple sessions are required to completely remove the tattoo. Using the Revlite Laser system there is no need to "frost" or blister the skin as with the older laser systems. A prescription strength topical anesthetic is applied a couple hours before your laser treatment. Injectable local anesthetic is also available for small to moderately sized tattoos.
