Laser/IPL by Lumenis®
No Other Laser System is as Fast AND Inexpensive!
Give yourself a skin rejuvenation with a Photofacial by Epilight®. Three IPL treatments spaced three weeks apart and you will see blemishes, age spots, brown spots, facial spider veins and fine lines/wrinkles disappear. The treatment stimulates your own collagen formation and are often used in conjunction with Restylane® or Perlane®, which intensely stimulates your own collagen formation. In a few days you will notice a difference in your skin with blemishes disappearing and your skin feeling smoother and looking clearer.
Permanent Hair Reduction of virtually any area is accomplished by using the LIGHTSHEER SYSTEM by Lumenis®. Because hair follicles are in different stages of the growth cycle multiple treatments are needed. Sometimes up to six treatments are needed. Treatments are spaced six to eight weeks apart depending on what area is being treated.

Epilight® effectively treats the redness associated with Rosacea. Usually three IPL treatments are needed spaced three to four weeks apart. The results last approximately one year and sometimes longer.
What is the difference between IPL and Laser?
Laser by definition uses only one of the many wavelengths present in light. This single wavelength is processed to make it much stronger than IPL. IPL uses all the wavelengths available in light minus the shorter wavelengths which only cause skin damage. These shorter
wavelengths are eliminated by a filter. Which filter Dr. Basile chooses to use depends on a variety of factors including your skin type. Dr. Basile uses the Yag Laser called Vasculight® for treating leg veins.
What does an Epilight treatment feel like?
Cool gel is applied to the area and the Epilight® feels like the snap of a warm rubber band against your skin. You will have some redness after the procedure.
What areas are treated in a Photofacial?
Normally the forehead, temples and cheeks down to the jawline. Any area with sun damage can be treated including most commonly the neck, chest and hands.
Is there any downtime?
No, you will have some mild redness immediately after the treatment. This redness quickly resolves on it's own by the next day.
Can you sculpt a design with the LIGHTSHEER SYSTEM when doing hair removal?
No, the physics of how the laser works does not allow for sculpting. Thus, the laser is not used to sculpt eyebrows or any other area.
Are there any complications or precautions I should take?
You should avoid unprotected sun exposure or tanning booths before and certainly after your treatments as these can lead to burns on subsequent treatments as well as hypopigmentation (loss of skin pigmention) or hyperpigmentation (increased skin pigmentation). Tell Dr. Basile of any recent sun or tanning exposure before your treatments start.
